
In the wake of a devastating storm that left 21 families in Sizinda, Bulawayo without shelter, former Member of Parliament Honourable Ostallos Siziba took swift action to provide critical relief supplies to those affected.
He was accompanied on weekend to Sizinda by politicians aligned with the Blue movement along with President Chamisa, including Hon. Bekezela Maplanka, former MP Hon. Eric Gono, and Hon. Takudzwa Ngadziore, as well as local councillors Arnold Batirai, Bruce Moyo and former councillor Shepherd Sithole.
Hon Maplanka commended Siziba’s generous gesture, emphasizing the importance of supporting those in need during such trying times. In a forward-thinking approach, former MP Siziba announced plans to collaborate with the residents’ association, city council, and business community to expedite efforts aimed at securing and safeguarding the homes of those affected.
This comprehensive approach is designed to provide both immediate relief and long-term solutions for the affected families.
Former MP Siziba outlined a comprehensive disaster management framework designed to enhance community resilience. This framework includes the implementation of early warning systems to alert communities about impending storms and ensuring preparedness.

Additionally, Siziba’s team is developing emergency response plans that mobilize resources and personnel rapidly in the wake of disasters.
Efficient channels for relief aid distribution are also being established to deliver essential supplies to those in need without delay.
Siziba’s team is also focusing on long-term solutions that enable affected families to rebuild their lives and homes. The residents of Sizinda have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the former MP Honourable Siziba and his team for their timely intervention.
One of the residents expressed to My Afrika Magazine gratitude towards the deeds which were conducted by former MPs and councillors.
“We were left with nothing after the storm, but Honourable Siziba’s team came to our rescue with food, shelter, and other essential supplies. We are forever grateful for their kindness and generosity,” he said.
Another resident added: “Honourable Siziba’s actions have shown us that there are still leaders who care about the welfare of their people. We hope that his example will inspire others to follow in his footsteps.”
In expressing gratitude to the supporters who rallied to assist the affected families, Honourable Siziba stated,
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who responded urgently to help those in need. Your selfless contributions have brought hope and relief to families affected by this disaster. To the best of our abilities, we will continue to serve our community,” said Hon Siziba.
