The City of Bulawayo has issued a public notice alerting residents to an interruption in water supplies across all areas of the city due to scheduled maintenance by the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission Distribution Company (ZETDC). The maintenance, set to take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, will significantly impact water treatment operations at Criterion Water Works.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Town Clerk, the city announced the temporary suspension of its 130-hour water-shedding schedule to preserve supply and stabilize reservoirs. Only the Central Business District (CBD) and industrial areas will be exempt from the interruption. Water supplies are expected to resume once reservoirs are balanced and stabilized.

The City of Bulawayo has apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused by these necessary measures, emphasizing the importance of conserving water. The notice concludes with a reminder to all residents: “Water is life. Save every drop.”
