The city of Bulawayo eagerly awaits to see which of its kings will be crowned Misters of Zimbabwe 2025.
Mthwakazi is rallying behind four candidates: Blessed Mutemere, Daniel Damson, Nkosikhona Khumalo, and Shelton Sibanda, who have all secured spots in the top 16. Each of them hopes to bring the title home or at least make it to the top four.
Among them, Blessed Mutemere and Shelton Sibanda are currently leading in the People’s Choice category.
In an exclusive interview with My Kasi Magazine, the four candidates shared a common vision—to empower youth and contribute to the development of Bulawayo and Zimbabwe.
Nkosikhona Khumalo, whose motto is “Empowering Boys to Say No to Drugs,” is focused on using the platform to combat drug abuse in Bulawayo.
“Winning the crown means taking a step forward in building a stronger, healthier future. Youths are the leaders of tomorrow, and together, we can build a generation free from substance abuse. I’m committed to addressing the drug crisis haunting my home, Bulawayo,” he said.
Blessed Mutemere aims to establish and support programs that assist homeless individuals in the city.
“Winning this title would open career opportunities for me and create a positive impact in Bulawayo. I plan to use my platform to inspire young people to pursue their dreams while also focusing on charity work and social initiatives,” he shared.
“As a strong advocate for children experiencing homelessness, I hope to raise awareness about their struggles and establish programs that foster self-esteem and emotional well-being.”
Shelton Sibanda is focused on improving youth health and advocating for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
“Winning Misters of Zimbabwe would be a milestone, not just for me but for the entire community. As a community health advocate, I plan to use this platform to align with the 2030 Agenda—working towards a generation free from HIV, STIs, and unwanted pregnancies,” he said.
He also hopes to improve healthcare access for young people by lobbying for affordable and youth-friendly health services.
Daniel Damson believes that winning the title would put Bulawayo on the modeling map and help him further his mental health advocacy.
“For me, this would be a major step in my journey as a game-changer—showing young people they don’t have to hide their passions out of fear of criticism. I want to encourage more Bulawayo youths to participate in pageantry and embrace their talents,” he said.
“Through my advocacy for mental wellness in young men and boys, I believe that by sharing our stories and supporting one another, we can create a more compassionate and inclusive society.”
Pageant fans in Bulawayo are throwing their full support behind the four candidates, believing that this year’s Misters of Zimbabwe winner is among them. Whether through tackling drug abuse, homelessness, youth health, or mental wellness, these young men are ready to represent their city and inspire change.
